Groundbreaking for New Maya Angelou PCS Campus

Groundbreaking has begun at the Maya Angelou Public Charter School Evans Campus in the District’s Capitol Heights neighborhood. In addition to providing space for the Maya Angelou PCS High School and the community-focused Young Adult Learning Center (YALC), the building will also provide offices for the See Forever Foundation staff, and will feature a renovated auditorium, media center, library, and gymnasium. The project incorporates an existing 1960s school building and will be USGBC “LEED for Schools” certified upon completion in 2014.
