Why S27
Dialogue
Dialogue guides the process. Through a continuing series of discussions, Studio Twenty Seven Architecture helps clients navigate the design process. When starting a design, budget, schedule, and program can seem to be competing objectives. Unhurried, meaningful dialogue amongst team members helps align budget, schedule, and program needs into complementary project goals.
Question
Visionary goals notwithstanding, design solutions for community buildings work with an economy of means. This economy of means (which often converts to clarity of design) means our architects are skilled at questioning assumptions in project parameters. Our architects work closely with clients and end-users to ensure design solutions that are disciplined and responsive to our client’s needs.
Generate
We believe architecture is a means of expressing thought through the language of space, light, tectonics, and phenomena. We strive to use the language of architecture to express concepts that are relevant to our client’s mission. Our work has received over seventy-five Design Awards for Excellence from local, regional, and national chapters of the American Institute of Architects. These design awards and acknowledgments from our peers illustrate our collaborative creativity in generating and executing designs that respond to our client’s needs.
Evaluate
During the design process, Studio Twenty Seven Architecture constantly evaluates multiple design options. We believe exploring options during the design process is essential. The design process is not a singular path, and evaluating numerous options provides a map for stakeholders to find their way. By comparing different options, we help our clients prioritize objectives. Less important objectives can be eliminated, often allowing for simpler, more concise design solutions.
Participate
A successful project requires more than just management skills. The architects at Studio Twenty Seven Architecture are not only managers of the process but active participants in your project from start to finish. Active social participation with all other participants in the design and construction elevates both the endeavor and the outcome.
Commit
We believe buildings are not static structures but living creations that adapt over time. All buildings should be able to adjust to a changing context and ecosystem. We welcome this continuing dialogue of improvements to improve our completed buildings. This continuous service to maintain and improve our buildings is one reason that each year, 78% to 86% of our work includes repeat clients.
