Easter Seals Child Development Center Opens

News—————2 December 2013

Once a vacant autoparts warehouse, this nondescript structure sits away from the city center of Falls Church in a redeveloping urban edge. Easter Seals has repurposed and reinvigorated this languishing structure as their new Northern Virginia Child Development center. On November 18th, just months after breaking ground, Easter Seals opened to provide educational and therapeutic services to children from six weeks to five years old who have been diagnosed with disabling conditions or developmental delays, or those who are at risk for delays.

The building, a fast-track design building agreement with Monarc Construction, Inc. is a collaborative assembly of new structure and available and donated finish materials. Included in the design is a full photovoltaic array on the rooftop and water savings and energy efficient systems.
