Mundo Verde PCS Earthday Ground Mending

News—————25 April 2014

Mundo Verde Public Charter School celebrated Earthday 2014 with a “Groundmending” at the site of their future campus on P Street. Busloads of hardhat-clad young polyglots trekked over to the construction site for this event, where they participated in the ceremonial removal of asphalt paving and planting of indigenous flora. Mundo Verde is Washington, DC’s first environmentally-focused bilingual charter school. Renewing the site of the old John P. Cooke school on P Street is the school’s first step in a long-term commitment to a sustainable future.
