Mundo Verde Rising

Process—————2 April 2015

The students of the Mundo Verde Bilingual Public Charter School have been getting a daily lesson in building green since the start of the 2014-2015 school year. The site surrounding their elegant 1924 school building has been in a state of constant flux as Forrester Construction completes work on the neighboring annex building. The Annex will include 10,000 ft2 of classroom space, including an outdoor terrace classroom and indoor green trellis wall. The building is designed to meet LEED platinum specifications. The Annex’s exterior walls are built with a doubled thermal layering system that will allow the building to exceed the available LEED points for energy efficiency. The exterior walls also happen to look pretty good too, in our opinion.
