Aya featured in international Global Design forum

Jake Marzolf, AIA, Associate Principal, presented the Aya project at the 12th Annual Yuanye Cup International Architectural Design Sharing Conference in May. Studio Twenty Seven Architecture was the only US firm out of 13 international architects/architectural firms that presented. Global Design’s International Design Network encourages independent creation and explores excellence in design on a global scale.

Mr. Marzolf, AIA led the design team for this award-winning short term family housing project which has been recognized as the Grand Award winner by DC AIA | Award of Excellence in Architecture as well as the Washingtonian Residential Design Award in 2020. Jurors commented on the exterior’s especially unique brick design and execution. The Aya is an affordable short term family housing project Located in Ward 6, and provides a dignified, safe environment for women and children, helping them to stabilize and exit homelessness.
